BONUS Hormones: The Inside Story - Is my diabetes my fault?

Hello, and welcome to Genetics Unzipped - the Genetics Society podcast, with me, Dr Sally Le Page. It’s a special bonus episode this week as we wanted to showcase another podcast we think you’ll like, Hormones: The Inside Story, and an episode about the genetics of type 2 diabetes.

Hormones: The Inside Story is the Society for Endocrinology’s podcast, produced by the same team behind Genetic Unzipped, that’s me, Kat and our producer Emma Werner. We’ve just started releasing the third series, and over the course of six episodes I’ll be asking:

  • Are my hormones making me horny?

  • Can my pet pick up my stress?

  • Have I got a thyroid problem?

  • Is my soya latte messing with my hormones?

  • And how can future technology help my hormones?

You can find the podcast in all the usual places; Podbean, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. But today we thought we’d play you episode 3, called “Is my diabetes my fault”, exploring the role of genetics, ethnicity and maternal environment on type 2 diabetes. Enjoy!
